After all this time working in healthcare, I tested positive this morning. I have an E-clinic appointment through CVS for "treatment options" which I hope will include the antivirals.

Does anyone have any experience with them?

So sorry you tested positive. You've certainly been through a lot these past few years.

I have friends that used them and felt the antivirals helped.

I have a friend that took paxlovid. He said it is hard to say if he was feeling better from the drug or because he was 5-7 days from becoming symptomatic. He decided to take it because he is high risk for complications.

Hope your symptoms are mild and you are feeling better soon.

My cousin got it first (two weeks ago) and gave it to his mom, my aunt. She immediately contacted her doctor because she is obese and suffers from COPD. She took Paxlovid. My cousin was sick for 14 days (no antiviral) and my aunt for only 7. They were equally sick, but given my aunt's medical conditions she was thrilled with the results. She credits the Paxlovid for her fairly quick recovery, but it was only offered to her because of her medical conditions. My cousin did not qualify and couldn't get it, so it took him longer to recover.

If you can get it, take it! But I am very sorry you are sick.

FYI.

CVS has e-clinical visits (video). You need proof of a positive result, either PRC or a home test (antigen). I received my paxlovid from another practitioner but this was a good alternative, if necessary. They get back to you to schedule in less than 24 hours.
