What if I want to pay/sponsor other members a premium access but don't know who needs it? I would like to dedicate a certain amount of money (in honor of unicornsearcher ) to sponsor a few other's memberships. But I have no idea who needs it.

And I don't know how to find the "link in their profile". Sorry, I'm a dumbass.

(((mom of 2)))

Thats really sweet of you

I'll bring this to the Moderators and I bet we can come up with a few names that would benefit from a sponsorship. I'll PM you later today and give you the opportunity to pick the one you want to sponsor

That would be great. Thank you! And I figured out how to sponsor someone (through their profile) so that's good. Just awaiting a pm when you have a chance.

So I have to have 51 posts, then make a contribution?

I wish I could have access after a contribution but before 51 posts. It's in the beginning we need the investigation info.

I just posted after a 4 month absence from SI. Now it says I only have made 1 topic post. Will that increase after I upgrade (which I will do anyway) by taking account of my posting history since joining? (Never mind; I see the "86 posts" now!)

I DO have a legitimate question? Will anything be sent to the address I use when I complete the upgrade form? I use a US address for credit card transactions, but I don't live there and don't want any mail going there. Thanks!

Also, has cccc20 upgraded yet, as I'd like to sponsor him?

TarnishedSilver...

While we certainly appreciate your original donation, this is a seperate process that requires a credit card to upgrade your profile to which ever level you prefer

Nothing from us is mailed to anyone that upgrades. The only thing you would see is your credit card statement with a line item of "SI Online"

I Have a question I realize should probably be asked in the investigate forum. I'm not sure if I'm reading this correct our not, I was registered before the premium access changed but dint have 51 posts so do I just need the post numbers or do I need to party also? The way I'm reading it it sounds like if I was registered before I don't have to pay? Just curious i don't want to post my question that can't be answered here. Funds are really tight for me thus month so I need to know what I'm looking at here.

DS - is my Profile page suppose to look different now or have new links? Also, when I linked to the form to upgrade, it had $49.20 pre-filled. I assumed that, with tax, the total would come to over $50 and I would have the full Platinum benefits, so I left it at that amount. How long does it take to activate?

Thanks.

I have the same question as another... I upgraded and I'm curious why there needs to be 51 posts before gaining access to investigate forum. As a new BS, this would be so helpful to have access to. Can you clarify reason why?

**Responding as a member.

I wanted to reach out in regards to the last question because I had the same one when I first joined, and it makes more sense to me now.

Deeply Scared will have a MUCH better answer for this than I do, but it's my understanding that waiting until 51 posts kinda helps preserve the nature of the website.

I wanted IT help right away as well, but in retrospect it made sense to me that you need to establish your legitimacy in the community for a bit before trading information that could be considered sensitive on some level. The whole point of SI is to heal, and while that may very well mean getting help to uncover how far your betrayal goes, we wouldn't want you getting information from someone else who recently registered and may not be here for all the right reasons.

It's my understanding that the wait period is put in place to protect YOU and everyone who honestly needs help.

Like I said, DS will likely have a more complete and detailed explanation. I just wanted to lend my observation from the almost 2 years I've been here.

Jrazz... Thank you for responding... I understand what you are saying and it makes sense to me. I was also thinking it is probably better that I try to heal more before I obsess about investigating. I am trying..

To MH,

Not a biggie but just wanted to let you know that there is a typo on the upgrade page. It's at the bottom of the initial explanation text above the form. It currently reads:

However refunds are non-refundable and non-transferable after processing.

I think it should read:

However upgrades are non-refundable and non-transferable after processing.

Again, not a biggie but just wanted to let you know.

P.s. my 6th grade English teacher would be so proud of me right now.
