Recovered emails

I wish I would have discovered this long ago! I discovered this by accident. Maybe someone that is more computer savvy could comment.

I was moving my AOL mail into folders and inadvertently moved everything in my incoming mail to a folder. So it looked like all my incoming emails were gone! I spent 1/2 hour in panic unsuccessfully trying to locate my emails. I only had 30-40 emails in there, but some were important things that I still needed to address!

I logged into AOL.com and clicked their "help" and sent them an email asking where all my mail had gone and where I could find it.

Within 10 minutes I got an email back from them and 2 additional folders named:

Recovered mail

Recovered sent mail

There were over 3000 emails dating back to 2009. All these email did not return to my in-box but to the new recovered email folders, so I don't recommend emptying your in-box!

Their message said it may take 24 hours to get a response but I got the response very quickly.

I am not yet sure how to delete these folders so someone more computer literate might have more info. The appearance of these 2 new folders would likely make your cheating spouse panic!

Unfortunately, it is my own email and I do not have access to the stbx's email. I did need to log in to the email with both my email address and my password in order get their response.

Hope someone else can comment on this.
