So an update..
I have been teaching myself Excel, which I have never been real fond of. It was going fine.
I am going to have an assessment of my computer skills and then start online classes to skill build :)
So progress!
I also had some decent vocational testing. It looks like communication is a strong point for me.
Now for the dumpster 馃敟馃敟 this week. The cord on my older but still really good and functional hybrid laptop breaks. It's an obsolete cord.
Now to figure out how to get a new computer...
Sympathy, good vibes, or kind words would be welcome.
There are some things going on that are not talked about in off topic that are adding to my feelings of overwhelm, but the gist is that I have held on for years and worked really hard and survived a global pandemic and now this...
Google even seemingly felt sorry for me and sent me uplifting stories so maybe this is more of a setback even than I am admitting 馃槀馃槀

Shehawk, that's great that you are able to teach yourself excel. Following up with online classes sounds like a good plan.
So sorry about the setback with your computer cord. Are you able to replace the computer?
Sending you some positive vibes!!!

Thanks for the good vibes Zebra!!!
I am pretty financially challenged right now but looking at what I can do to afford a new computer.
I could use some feedback from other Excel users as to what ram the program needs to function well?

Do you mean power cord or network cord or something else? What do you mean by break?

Power cord.
I ordered a non oem cord off Amazon and am hoping for the best. Supposedly it's compatable.
The lousy power cord design that breaks is a known issue they redesigned for with newer units.
Oem is not available. Or at least Microsoft has not replied yet. The internet and Best Buy staff say they are not available.
I am hoping for the best with the supposedly compatable but not Microsoft cord.

Break like the wires snapped next to the proprietary plug that fits in the side of the Microsoft surface pro 3.
I am not recommending fixing stuff like this..but because the wires snapped off leaving part in the plug I can't just heat shrink and move on with my life.
The good news is my stuff was backed up on the cloud :)

Good news Sisoon.
Thanks to people's support I figured out how to "field expedient" the broken power cord until the replacement arrives.
So I am back working on my legal stuff. (Again I don't recommend doing this, but) electrical tape and luck was on my side.

The generic replacement from Amazon came in and seems to work. So I have a backup charger as well and access to a computer.
I really appreciate everyone's input and messages. It's hard to keep paddling when the waves just keep coming but...
