I have one giving me a run for my money. He’s picky. Some of it is food sensitivity related (can’t handle dairy, avocados, tomatoes, melons, potatoes, kiwi, chestnuts, papaya, bananas, apples, and celery). He breaks out and gets ill on those. That still leaves many other food options, but I’m trying to figure out some different recipes that would maybe be fun and kid friendly yet do not involve these products. I feel like I make the same things over and over and over. I don’t know if this is the right place for that but does anybody have any good ones they want to share?

What about bruchetta? Or, toss sweet potatoes in olive oil and roast. Tempura chicken, mix 1/2 c flour, 1/4 cup corn starch, 1 egg and water(1/3 to 1/2 cup) 1/4 teaspoon salt. My picky kid LOVES most of these, especially the tempura chicken.
Just HOW stupid do you think I am, exactly?

My niece was picky but she liked tart cranberry chicken- look for it on the Taste of Home website. Easy for a weeknight.

My youngest is 2. We make pizza together. I buy a cauliflower crust but im sure you can make an even healthier one yourself. Then we slather on tomato paste from a can, and i have bowls of chopped up veggies he can put on. Oh and lots of cheese . But the tomato paste and veggies are what i love, he gets a ton of veg and the pizza tastes great!

Almost anything can be wrapped in a tortilla. Breakfast burritos with scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, meat, veggies.
Take a soft tortilla, and spread with refried beans. Wrap around a crunchy corn shell and add your taco meat and toppings. Similar to a Taco Bell item, but beans instead of cheese.
Breakfast pizza can be either pizza dough or biscuit dough. Make sausage gravy with lactose-free milk, top with scrambled eggs and any breakfast meat.
Flat bread pizza can have anything on it and you don't have to use tomato or tomato sauce. Spinach, artichoke, pepperoni, sausage, peppericini.
What about trying to learn to make sushi? You don't have to use raw fish. Spring rolls or pot stickers can be made without celery.

If your kid is picky, make him a taco pizza. Get Naan or flatbread, slather on a layer of refried beans and taco meat and bake for about 8 to 10 minutes then finish off with lettuce, taco sauce and, if desired, grated cheese. You can also add toppings like scallions, olives, tomatoes, etc! I also doctor my refried beans wit a bit of cumin, onion powder and garlic plus a tablespoon or so of salsa before smearing it on the flatbread. Also, precook the taco meat before adding it onto the refried beans.

Thank you for the wonderful ideas. He cannot have cheese (or a lot of other things) but there are alternatives to that. I can use those recipes and suit them to what he can eat.
