Last week was my daughter’s birthday. She celebrated her birthday with me and my family and with her dad and his family. This is the way we are going to celebrate our birthdays from now on. Not as a family but separated! We always knew everything from each other. Or so I thought……. And now I don’t know nothing! It is very difficult not to reach out. But I won’t!

I am so sorry that you are going through this Helena. It’s so incredibly hard to adjust to the very new world that is thrust upon us out of nowhere.

No contact was the hardest thing I ever did. Each day was a battle. All I know is that I only started to get better when I stopped reaching out.

I think you are being amazingly strong. I hope you managed to have a lovely birthday with your daughter.

Stay strong. Stay no contact. I know it doesn’t feel like it right now but there is something so much better around the corner.

Sending you a hug.

The "firsts" of things like that are the worst. But it gets easier over time, and you may come to find you like celebrating with her without him better. You may do new things, celebrate in ways you would not have with him around. Give it time.

You are doing great— and NC is hard, so congrats on that.

Thank you both for your support and encouragement! We had a lovely time on her birthday. And my daughter was glad with two presents instead of one wink !
