As most of you know, I'm a singer. With my recent relocation, I have joined a new group. My old group was very traditional with black gowns and I wore bright red lipstick. I'm a brunette with fair, fair skin and hazel eyes.

The new group has jeweled tops in vivid purple and black palazzo pants (or a long skirt). I'm wondering what color lipstick would work. Thoughts?

PS: I normally buy a product that is a lip stain (you have to remove with makeup remover) with a clear coat you can reapply for shine. It's a great product for a singer.

Something thats a more natural color but doesn't make you disappear under the lights. A stronger color allows people to see you singing opening your mouth more etc.

And I would aim toward something slightly pinky, purply or magenta-y so it won’t clash with the purple tops.
If you go red, go a blue-red not an orange-red. You might take a pic in your outfit and then use one of those photo apps that allows you to add things like lipstick and play with different colors. You’ll quickly see that brownish or orange colors won’t look good.

I agree with a pinkish tone, IMO anything too bold will clash with the deep purple.

I like the idea of taking a picture and seeing how you like it but I think the pinkish tones.
Also looking at what other people are wearing and seeing what looks good with the purple that way maybe?

I'm just cluing into this thread and am curious what you went with?

I'm on team pinkish/purplish hue and not too deep [although a smokey eye w/a deep purplish hue would look amazing with a nude lip w/cool undertones]
