Happy Birthday in memoriam to DS. One of the best people I've had the pleasure to know. If I had to name one thing that impressed me the most, it was her empathy. She was very kind to a stranger whose life was slipping away, and was a big part of my recovery. She is missed.

A few days late to the party, but knowing DS even briefly I am both certain I'm forgiven and there is still something left to share.
Happy Birthday!

I'm going to quote an old Norse poem that is considered to reflect the old Norse view to life. It acknowledges that life is temporary, but that eternity can be attained through your deeds and actions. I think DS noble name will never perish:
Cattle die,
kinsmen die,
all men are mortal;
but words of praise will never perish
nor a noble name
"If, therefore, any be unhappy, let him remember that he is unhappy by reason of himself alone." Epictetus
