I’ve decided one of the only options for me to get real answers is to place a VAR in the vehicle. Has anyone has experience with this? I’ve never used one and I don’t even know where to begin? Any recommendations? Thank you.

I’ve not used one, but others here have recommended you be sure there are no lights on it (put electrical tape over if there are) and if it can make sounds, put wired ear buds in and then cut the buds off (so sound is directed to the ear buds but no sound comes out).

I placed one in my WH’s car (this is how I caught him). I bought one off of Amazon (delivered the next day). It was super compact and had a setting in it where I can record so it only picked up on sound - this way I didn’t have to sit and potentially listen to hours upon hours of "dead air." I stuck it in the backseat pocket of the drivers seat.
