Happy American 4th of July!

I hope you have a great one!

Lots of food, family, friends.

I know I will. What started out as a couple of friends having lunch turned out to be a bunch of people coming over. So I am up early prepping food (did some yesterday too).

Prepped about 10 pounds of fruit and veggies! Have an instacart order on the way with more pizzas and chicken and all the stuff I inevitably forgot at my quick trip to the grocery store :)
I am basically fixing 3 different types of meals because of various people’s dietary needs and preferences…

It looks like rain! But at least it won’t be so scorching hot!

Happy Independence Day to everyone! We usually have a get together with the 6 other houses in our remote neck of the woods here in rural Virginia, but need to keep an eye on the weather. Supposed to be close to 98 degree feels like weather with possible storms, so that could impact the annual hot dog cookout on the tailgate grill in the court. We usually set off fireworks, but with the lack of rain and drought conditions we may back off this year. It's a bummer, as I've got almost $500 of really good artillery in the garage ready to go, but we can at least do the fountains and smaller pyrotechnics.

Hope everyone has a safe, fun filled 4th!

Blessed Independence Day All! Got a sweet quarter inch rain this morning, saved the local crops here in the Valley of Virginia. So what if it's 100% humid, right? D.C. is under a boil water alert due to low flows in the river.....

Had a great BBQ/birthday party with family.

Now, the PTSD/PISD is kicking in. Balloons for the bday party popped in the house wasn't optimal. Now, the bombs bursting in air are almost more than I can take. Trying to calm my nervous system.

Leafields

Probably will get the topic moved to general if I say this but I can relate to your feelings about loud noises etc

No, loud noise sensitivity is a real thing. I had been down with an abscessing tooth and taking antibiotics all week. We went to a watch party on June 29th (last Saturday) and it was all Boom Boom Boom to start off with, and I almost started shaking! Because my system had been under attack for a week, I felt very vulnerable.

Aw Shehawk, thanks, that was sweet of you. Yeah I hope things are healing up after I got one of the upper premolars retreated and took another round of Augmentin. It was a long, slow climb out, still having nasal symptoms which I learned are related to this (described in my other post about teeth!) The endodontist said they see this pretty often but my dentist apparently hadn't! It's so crazy with all the other things we have to keep track of, right?

Hope your summer has been going great. We finally got 4 inches of desperately needed rain out of Hurricane Debbie.
